I have a fuzzy recollection of a drawing I made as a young girl of Marco Polo or was it Genghis Khan, I don\u2019t remember now. I\u2019m guessing it was probably done for a history project in school. What I do remember is the sense of pride I felt for what I\u2019d created with my own two hands. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In these early moments of pride, we begin to build the foundation for our creative experiences in our lifetimes. This pride, however, can become a double-edged sword. In one way, the pride we feel creates a sense of curiosity, a desire to learn more, which is healthy and helps us grow. In another way, it creates an expectation of the return of that same sense of pride. And where there is a lack of pride, self-judgement can creep its way in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In general, there isn\u2019t anything wrong with pride. It only becomes a problem when we expect to feel it with everything we create and do. We won\u2019t always love the things we create, but we can always learn a tremendous amount from everything we do create, whether we love it or not. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is important to know that creative expression doesn\u2019t only appear on canvas or paper. Our creativity can be expressed in endless ways. Our unique creativity can come forth in the way we do almost anything, like for example in the way we parent, the way we resolve conflict, the way we solve a problem, or in the way teach. It can be by busting out a new dance move or it can be how we grow a garden or add a new twist to a recipe. Creativity can present itself simply in the way we choose to show up every day in our lives. Whenever we are inspired to try something new or are curious about something, that\u2019s typically a sign that our souls are sending us wanting to lead us to express ourselves creatively in our own unique ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The healthiest form of pride comes from our willingness to explore, to try new things and most importantly to be okay with failing at things. We can then become more open to the idea that we are continuously evolving toward higher states of soul connection and purpose through our creative expression. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through this evolutionary and awakening process, we can then all have access to living richer and more fulfilling lives. Lives full of integrity and purpose.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
